Academic Study
From January 2013, the EPC and IFTC will be offering Higher Education accreditation on many of its courses through one of its three new Higher Education partners:
-
Integrated Emergency Management – University of Portsmouth
-
Public Safety & Crowd Management – Buckinghamshire New University
-
Fire Training Services – University of Wolverhampton
Delegates will have the opportunity to achieve credit accumulation points leading to a range of under graduate and post graduate qualifications, depending on the subject content and number of courses taken.
Examples include:
-
Post graduate Certificate/Diploma/Msc in Risk Management
-
BSc Risk and Security Management
-
MSc Crisis and Disaster Management
-
BSc (Hons) Fire and Rescue (Aviation)
Those wishing to achieve academic accreditation may need to undertake additional assessment. There will also be opportunities for delegates to enrol directly onto Higher Education programmes and study via a combination of attendance at the Emergency Planning College and distance learning. It may also be possible to gain credit accumulation points via assessment of any prior learning or work-based experience through the Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
